Hi ,
Two weeks from today, I'll wake up in Santa Ana, California, and head over to the Anaheim Convention Center to help a new client assemble their booth. I'll be doing that for four new clients and some longer-term clients as well over the following day or two. Should be fun, right? Of course, "fun" isn't the word that springs to mind. It's great to have new clients, and we're grateful, but there are always loose ends, last-minute snafus and situations that can make these things challenging.
Which is why I continue to work with great partners that build, ship and setup the new exhibits. I trust them to know what to do when things go sideways, which they can. Being resourceful is one of the great skills that always comes in handy in this industry.
New on the blog this week: more statistics about tradeshows and visitors; are those exhibitors competitors or potential collaborators? and a new podcast/vlog where I get behind the wheel of my dream car.
Soundtrack for this week's newsletter:
David Bowie's "Blackstar," released two days before he died in 2016. Blackstar was released on his 69th birthday and is quite unlike much of his earlier material. It's a fascinating
album, and having heard it dozens of times over the past three years, I never tire of its energy, spice, jazzy rhythms and of course Bowie's unmistakeable voice and song-writing.
