Hi ,
Decades ago, when I looked far out into the future to see people that were my current age, I thought at that stage in life they'd be mostly content to sit around, do a little traveling, read a little but otherwise be basically bored with life. I can tell you now from this angle that is not the case. I'm always learning, always moving, always engaging, always looking for more. It seems like nothing's changed! Perhaps it's the hunger for life I have, that many of us have, knowing
it's the one shot we get. Stay in touch with old friends and family, learn something new, stay active, play music, listen to music, read great books. In my 20s my methods for staying active were quite different than now, but the attitude is the same. It all works to keep me leaning in, as they say.
What's keeping you going?
This week on the blog you'll find a podcast/vlog on avoiding things (and how to avoid avoiding things), an article that goes over a list of things you might consider doing to get the most out of your tradeshow appearance, and one on assessing all of the shiny objects that you might consider putting in your tradeshow booth.
Soundtrack for this week's newsletter is a blues show on community radio KMUZ in the Salem, Oregon area. I've been a volunteer at the station for about ten years and this week is pledge drive week. Right now Brother Bob is playing a great set of blues. As in many community radio stations, the program schedule is deep and wide. My show is a reggae show - two hours each Monday evening. Other shows include surf, punk rock, island music and more. And of course lots of local flavor with NW
music, local people discussing arts and local politics, city council, business and more. Support your local community station. And if you like what you hear when you stream
KMUZ online, toss a few bucks our way!
