Hi ,
People watching is a fascinating pastime. Sitting in a local coffee shop, in a park or some event, dozens, hundreds of people pass by. Men and women, boys and girls. Old and young. Some are energetic, some appear tired and worn down. Some look like they are open to talking with anyone. Others look like the worst thing that could happen is if someone spoke to them! We're all different, but we're all the same: we're all going through life working on challenges. Asking for help, giving help
when needed. But the overarching question that comes to my mind when watching people is "what are they going through? What kind of challenges do they have today?" You never know what another person is going through. You have no idea. So have a little sympathy and compassion for those that you don't know.
This week on the blog, a new podcast on "
nothing happening." I got to thinking about a science fiction story I read as a young man where nothing happened. How do you bust out of the concept of "nothing happening?" Also, the art of tradeshows is in hiding the art; and a blog post on the official launch of
TradeshowGuy.net.
Soundtrack for this week's issue is a 2015 album from
The Arcs called
Yours, Dreamily,. Not familiar with this band, but I was turned on to the album by a friend. I'd say they sound a bit like the Black Keys.
And I'd be right. The Arcs is a side project by
Dan Auerbach, guitarist and vocalist of the Black Keys. Distorted guitars, loud drums, catchy songs. Definitely a good addition to my collection.
