Hi ,
A short issue, thanks to last week's short week. I hope you had a good short week for Thanksgiving as well. My family enjoyed the cool air and clear skies on the central Oregon beach. We basically walked the dog a few times a day, read books, watched movies and sports and ate. Nice work if you can get it.
As we get to the year's end, I grabbed links to ten fun podcasts and posted them for a nice flashback. We don't always get the time to listen to as much content as we'd like, so if you haven't heard these, maybe you can find a few that you'd like to find time for.
Also, a link to a timely story from Exhibit City News about how exhibitors are working to handle new state requirements for exhibits in Nevada.
Soundtrack to this week's newsletter - that would be the album that I'm listening to during the assembling of said issue - is
Grand Funk Railroad's "Shinin' On." Released in 1974, it followed their huge album "
We're an American Band," which topped the charts. Though not as popular,
Shinin' On did spawn a couple of hits, including the title track and a cover of Little Eva's "
The Locomotion," which hit number one on Billboard, and was written by Carole King and Gerry Goffin. I was just about to exit my teen years when this album hit. I was a much bigger fan of the American Band album, but this one also has a solid spot in my
collection. Both albums sound great, probably a credit to producer
Todd Rundgren, who was behind the dials.
Photo below is from our week on the coast, shortly after sunset. The photo includes the thin moon in the upper left. It also includes (hard to see here, but it's there in full size and resolution Venus, Jupiter and Saturn, all in a row to the right of the moon towards the horizon.
