Hi ,
Every morning when my wife and I latch up the dog and walk a few miles, it's great to see the trees and flowers in bloom. Dogwoods, lilacs, irises and so much more are springing to life in a burst of colors. Great to see. And walking through a mostly-quiet downtown is refreshing.
Given that the tradeshow business is dead, I've focused on sending out a postcard promotion that has been in the works since January. Maybe you'll get one! Or just check out my
tweet about it here.
One new article this week looks at a review of tradeshow marketing systems, inspired in part by my experience in driving a few hours a day delivering food for Uber Eats. There's one helluva system in place to make all of that happen seamlessly. So what about your system?
Also, a new podcast interview that's a little off the tradeshow/event beaten path. I spoke with Garrett Greenberg about a loan program that might be very helpful to businesses and homeowners. You'll have to listen to the interview to get a good explanation.
Soundtrack for this week's issue:
Fiona Apple's new release, "
Throw Out the Bolt Cutters." (Spotify link) The album was released just a few days ago, and based on a
New Yorker review, I thought I'd check it out. I can't say I'm familiar with her music. But when I read "Over time, confinement has made Apple exceptionally resourceful. “
Fetch the Bolt Cutters” is the
culmination of a long and steady rejection of formal recording processes, wherein conventional instrumentation and studio arrangements have been replaced by an at-home tool kit of gadgets, gizmos, and B-roll audio recordings made on an iPhone or with GarageBand. Besides the dogs barking, the album contains a scrap yard’s worth of strange drumming surfaces: a metal butterfly, a loose stovetop Apple found on the side of the road, wooden blocks, an assortment of bells and shakers, oil cans," I
have to give it a listen. It's fun, different, creative.
