Hi ,
Having trouble getting back into the swing of things after a three-day weekend? A big Independence Day weekend where neighborhood fireworks seemed to have multiplied by about a thousand from last year?
Yeah, me, too.
But, no worries. Diving in. Working to make things happen. Doing the normal things, or as normal as possible. And my best wishes to you as you make your way through the second half of one of the most bizarre years on record.
This week, a quick blog video on the prospect of hacking tradeshow success; a look at new sales sheets for the Lyft office dividers; and a podcast interview with Marlys Arnold of Exhibit Marketer's Cafe.
Soundtrack for this week's newsletter:
Bruce Springsteen's "
Darkness on the Edge of Town." (Spotify link). Released in 1978, it came after a protracted three-year legal battle after 1975's "
Born to Run." I was not a big Springsteen fan until Darkness, and as a young music director at a rock station, this album hit me strong and clean. Impactful, brilliant, rockin' and more. I had seen Bruce in 1976 in Portland (thanks to being a young radio station
Music Director), having driven 90 miles from The Dalles, and watched in awe as he put on a two hour show, took a thirty minute break, then came back and did another two hours. This at a time when most rock acts could barely offer a 90 minute show. Impressive.
