Hi ,
The Dog Days of Summer? Sure, why not. To me, it means getting my bike ride in before noon instead of waiting until later in the day. To beat the heat, doncha know. Enjoy summer, it's fleeting! At least here in Oregon,
where fall seems to drop in unexpectedly at the end of September. Or earlier.
This week, a new short video on what I perceive to be the qualities of well-rounded tradeshow marketers. Also, a collection of tweets from the world of tradeshows about going virtual, dealing with COVID-19, and more. And finally, an interview with Classic Exhibit's Kevin Carty on the company's appearance at Together Again Expo in Orlando last month.
Soundtrack for this week's issue. Grace Potter and the Nocturnals' self-titled album from 2010 (Spotify link). It's a helluva lot of fun. I recall an old radio buddy turning me on to the band a
dozen or so years ago. The Vermont band was formed in 2002 has four albums and hundreds of live shows to their credit. I'd describe them as mostly hard-rocking, indie, alternative. Grace's voice reminds of me of Nancy Wilson of Heart, Janis Joplin, Annie Lennox...any good poewerful female singer. Good stuff.
The 3.5 Strategic Rules of Successful Sales Recovery…
1. Attraction must be MUTUAL and perceived as valuable.
2. Opportunities will be everywhere, but YOURS must be customized, personalized, and perceived as valuable.
3. The lost secret of selling that will make your bank account bigger.
3.5 Salespeople will be uniting and sharing ideas IF you choose the right group.
From Bob Beverly's The Sharp Club:
Have you read " The Screwtape Letters" by C.S. Lewis? I underlined almost every word in the book when I read it almost 50 years ago.. Even if you don't believe in God, the Devil, or angels, this book will make you wiser, sharper,
and more aware of the subtle tricks of evil. Ponder it, take in its message, and you will be a better human being.

Yes, dozens of shows are going virtual, at least that's the conclusion you must draw if you search Twitter for the #tradeshow hashtag.
