I’m not a huge “visualization” guy, and I don’t really dabble in self-help much in general. But I do know that if you convince yourself your virtual event will be “lesser” from the first day you begin to plan it, guess what? It will be.
Even with vaccines, it looks like it’s going to be a while before we get back to significant in-person conferences. So if you’re planning a virtual event for 2021, I want you to grab a piece of paper and a pen and write yourself this note:
“A different event is not a worse event.”
Keep that by your computer and look at it once per day. And if you need a confidence boost and/or help to make your online gathering memorable and amazing, let’s talk. I do a lot of virtual keynotes, but also love event production, and multi-day hosting roles.

Jeff Bajorek:
I don’t subscribe to the theory that life is a constant struggle. There will always be challenges, and when they present themselves, you should look inward. There aren’t enough people willing to do that, because it’s really hard. Looking in the mirror presents you with more work to do. The struggle essentially compounds. Who has time for that?
Discomfort like this should mean something. There’s a transformation that happens. The end result is more experience, better perspective, and wisdom. On the other side of struggle is growth. Are you willing to see it, or are you running from it?
