Update from the traveling HQ...
In which our intrepid traveler finds his roots...
Hi --

It's been some time since I checked in with you on this so-called 'newsletter' - so I thought I'd finally sit down and pen a brief update, since there are a number of things that have changed and perhaps are worth talking about!

Change is a way of life. I have been familiar with changes ever since I was a youngster, so change is normal: I just roll with it and keep on moving forward.

It's been two years since I started my new company, Communication One Exhibits, after my previous employer retired and shut down his company. Running my own company is new (still!) and I sometimes wonder how I make it all happen (smoke and mirrors?), but happen it does. A handful of good projects, one large booth project (Bob's Red Mill) and various other items keep the cash flow going and the doors open. I've had the opportunity to work with such great folks as Mel and his team at Classic Exhibits and John-Paull at Boothster, both in the Portland area. I look forward to continuing to do projects, and there are a few that look to happen this fall.

Of course, there are personal changes, too. My fiancé Jenny and I travelled in April and got married in Gibraltar, spent a couple of weeks in Spain, mostly in Barcelona, soaking up the local culture. In the past year we've moved twice (!), only one of them by choice. But now we're getting settled in a new house and realize that as summer moves on, there are some opportunities to come up for air.

So I've been spending time the past couple of weeks reaching out to old contacts to introduce or re-introduce them to me and my new company. I'm letting them (and you) know that I'm here to stay, that the new business is doing well, and that I'm happy to consider any tradeshow or exhibit projects that you may have in the pipeline.

One of the challenges of being a one-man operation is that it's hard to figure out exactly what it is you should do, when you have the capability to do so many things, but only so many hours in a day (and a new marriage to attend to!). For instance, I still get out and speak on using social media for event and tradeshow marketing; I can train your booth staffers on how to maximize effectiveness in the booth; how to use video online, how to blog effectively, etc., etc.! I've done all of these and more for clients, and would love continue that kind of work.

I guess the bottom line is that when people ask me what I do, I just say 'I'm the @tradeshowguy and I can help make your tradeshow marketing appearance successful. ' You may have seen the testimonial video one of my clients did recently. If not, click here.

Beyond custom booth fabrication, we can do the following:

·         standard 'off-the-shelf' booths

·         banner stands

·         iPad tradeshow kiosks

·         fabric back walls

·         booth lighting

·         graphic and booth design

·         tradeshow marketing planning

·         social media tradeshow marketing

·         and so much more..

If you have any questions in tradeshow marketing, feel free to send me any questions or comments and let me be a resource for you - or visit our websites below.

Best regards,
