Hello ...

Vacation week!

Out of the office reply in place - check.

Golf clubs - check.

Ice for the cooler - check.

Tickets to the Pebble Beach concours d'elegance - uh, sure. Heh-heh.

Lots of folks I do business with in one form or another are on vacation this month. You usually find out when you email them and get the auto-reply back that says they're 'out of the office' until such-and-such a date.

So you wait until they return, with their tans and faraway eyes.

Back in the office, let's point you to a couple of things this week that might take the edge off of you NOT going on vacation when others are gallivanting around the globe.

First, there's the replay of last week's webinar "Using a Webinar to Promote Your Tradeshow Appearance - and 7 other unusual ideas to attract visitors to your booth.' Check it out here.

And just for fun, I dug a little into the history of tradeshows for a short post. Yes, trade fairs have been around for centuries.

Flashback Tuesday:

A few years ago I hooked up online with David Adler, founder of BizBash, and discussed the increasing use of social media on connecting, especially on how it impacted tradeshows and events. It's still a relevant topic.

Another replay: the technology has advanced, but I think the ideas remain the same: are you posting video from the tradeshow floor? My article from late 2011 has a few funny quirks regarding the technology of the day, but the concept of shooting, editing and posting video from your tradeshow booth is still strong. Check it out.

Have a great couple of weeks!
